HASS - Highly Accelerated
Stress Screening
All assembly processes (together with component and design tolerances)
can introduce potential weaknesses into products. These need to
be removed to enhance reliability. Weaknesses may be precipitated
by subjecting sub-assemblies and/or finished units to carefully
controlled levels of stress; faulty products are screened out before
reaching the end customer. Suitable stress levels can be determined
via a HALT evaluation exercise. Used during production to identity
manufacturing weaknesses.
